IT Manager

Lead IT strategy and infrastructure for a technology business operating in the defence sector, delivering secure systems across multiple platforms - with security, resilience and compliance being central to everything they do.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape the IT roadmap, mentor engineers, and represent IT at senior leadership level.

You'll:

• Lead a team of Senior Infrastructure Engineers
• Own and improve on-prem and hybrid infrastructure
• Develop a forward-looking IT roadmap
• Work closely with the Managing Director and CISO
• Ensure compliance with ISO and security standards

This is a predominantly internal IT role, focused on strengthening and futureproofing internal IT infrastructure.

Technical experience you'll need:

• Windows Server (2019 / 2022)
• Active Directory / Azure AD
• Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox
• Microsoft 365 
• Palo Alto firewalls
• Strong security and compliance focus

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as an IT Manager or Infrastructure Manager
• Experience leading technically capable engineers
• Strong knowledge of Windows infrastructure and virtualisation
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders

Location: Tewkesbury - due to the nature of the industry and environment, the requirement is 5 days a week on site.
Salary: £50k-£55k

Security clearance (SC) is required. You must be a UK national and eligible to obtain clearance.
