FAQs
How do I claim expenses?
From time to time you may need to claim expenses. You can upload any expense receipts to the timesheet portal which can be approved by your line manager, alongside your timesheet.
Where can I find timesheets and associated paperwork?
When you join Big Red Recruitment as a contractor our accounts team will set you up on our timesheet portal. You will receive your login details and timesheet instructions via email.
How can I ensure payment is approved?
Simple - get your approved Big Red timesheet (and any approved expense claims) over to us by midday on the 5th working day of the month. This ensures payment on the 14th.
If you miss this deadline, any timesheets and expense invoices received after the fact will be paid the following month.
How do I get access to the Self-Billing scheme?
You'll need to complete a self-billing schedule. It's quick and easy.
Funds will be cleared into your limited company or umbrella company's bank account on the 14th of each month (or the next working day, if the 14th falls on a weekend).
Bear in mind that if you use an umbrella agency, it takes up to 3 days for funds to clear from their account to yours. Please refer to your umbrella agency's terms and conditions for details.
How do I get paid?
Big Red operates a Self-Billing platform to provide our contractors with the most efficient payment experience.
So, whether you operate as a Limited Company, or work through your Umbrella Company, you won't have to produce an invoice at the end of each month. We'll generate an invoice that matches your approved timesheet. This cuts down on your administrative tasks and reduces associated queries.
When do I get paid?
Big Red runs a monthly payment schedule. It's planned a year in advance.
