One of the key suppliers in to the Water industry is looking for a divisional IT specialist to look after a user base of c 400. You will have the opportunity to work with their core applications and you will be able to impact business efficiencies through training and development of these business critical applications. As the IT go to person you will be working closely with the leadership team and the engineers out on the front line dealing with major water infrastructure projects, you will be using your communication skills to build relationships with these communities as well as with the key IT suppliers.

80% of the role will be focused on supporting their 3 critical business systems, these are off the shelf systems which support, contract management, the core business work flow and the water infrastructure surveying and reporting process. You will be using your technical and analytical process skills to help evolve these applications, you will be out in the field helping set up new contracts and configuring the systems to suit the new contracts, you will be training and writing user guides and you will be supporting the teams with your knowledge of the application functionality.

In addition you will be acting as general IT software and hardware support, for the 400 user base, but most importantly the senior leaders within the business. Most of the IT desktop and server support is delivered by a shared IT support function which operates within the parent company, however as the sole IT representative within the business you will be required to catch the support issues that fall between the gaps and you will be on hand for quick resolution support for some of the VIP users. This could including setting up Laptops and Phones, troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues, printer issues or something as basic and filling the ink up in the printer.

You will be based form Worcester c 3 days per week and traveling between sites in the UK (no over night stays) c 2 days per week.

To be considered for the role you will have

Fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience of working with business applications and supporting users on the functionality of those business applications.
Ideally but not essentially you will have training and configuration skills.
Good technical understanding across PCs and basic infrastructure.
Good excel skills VBA / Pivot Table level
A can do attitude where no job is too small or too simple
