Expanding, leading UK Internet Service Provider are seeking a Telecommunication Support Engineer to join them as they continue through significant growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a SME in this area of the business and be the go to person for business critical issues. The business are seeking candidates who have experience or knowledge of WAN/LAN and voice technologies (whether it be commercially or home studying). The successful Service Provider have a strong record of training junior employees with some sound knowledge in the relevant area but with a high motivation to learn and succeed in a technical career.
The role is to provide efficient and reliable support and provisioning to managed service customers. This client are a leading supplier of business telecommunication solutions with thousands of customers utilising data, voice, cloud and mobile solutions to aid business requirements.
The successful telecommunication engineer will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving VoIP faults. Part of the role will be to manage customer inbound numbers via web portals and support bespoke dialer solutions. As the telecommunication support engineer you will work closely with experienced VoIP engineers to upskill and have involvement in the design, build and maintenance of VoIP solutions.
Necessary telecommunications support engineer skills/experience:
* Experience / knowledge of data (WAN/ LAN), voice technologies and network operations
* Troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work individually and within a team.
* Strong communication skills, with a customer service focus.
* Attention to detail
Desirable telecommunications support engineer skills/experience:
* Experience of Cisco routing and switching
* Awareness / knowledge of protocols: MPLS, QoS, IPv4, SIP and VLANs.
