

Big Red was formed in September 2001 by two people with exceptional track records in the IT Recruitment marketplace. In spite of starting the business during global recession and head count freezes Big Red has gone from strength to strength.
This growth has been possible because of an obsession with quality that has led to us suffering almost no turnover of clients, something rare if not unique in the industry. We are continuing to grow as existing clients expand and decision makers move from an existing client onto new challenges and take us with them.
Career development within Big Red is structured and closely monitored to ensure that our people develop their careers at the speed and in the direction that suits their needs. Broadly speaking our people fall into one of the following job roles:
Resourcer – we hire bright graduates with exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence and train them the Big Red way. We have typically hired grads with 2:1 and 1st class degrees, that said, we aren’t closed minded, we have successful people in the company who haven’t completed higher education. The resourcer will work with more experienced consultants on projects and will phone interview and sit in on face to face interviews and learn the skills through a mixture of a structured training programme and on the job experiences.
Recruitment Executive – typically the first step on for the resourcers we hire and train, the RE will take responsibility for projects from start to finish completing all of the phone interviews, face to face interviews (typically in our clients offices) and will then handle the shortlisting meetings and the recruitment process from here to completion.
Recruitment Consultant and Senior Consultant – in essence the role doesn’t change that much, the useful thing we do for our clients is run recruitment projects in a structured, organised and most importantly predictable way. As people progress through the company they will take on more account management responsibility and become more involved in the value add part of the business, helping our clients plan and execute really smart strategies in the acquisition and retention of the best available talent.
